Abstract:Expand the market signal theory with quality signal as the main content and the knowledge transfer theory with technical characteristics as the main content, introduce technology availability and technical characteristics as intermediary variables and regulatory variables respectively, select 313 manufacturing high-tech enterprises listed in A-share market from 2010 to 2020 as samples, and use multiple linear regression and other methods to empirically study the impact mechanism of quality signal on innovation performance. The research finds that the enhancement of quality signal and technology availability is conducive to the improvement of enterprise innovation performance; With the strengthening of quality signal, the availability of technology has also been enhanced; Technology availability plays an intermediary role between quality signals and innovation performance; Technological characteristics such as technology width, technology depth and technology overlap have an inverted U-shaped impact on innovation performance, and negatively regulate the relationship between quality signals and innovation performance.Further, from the perspective of ownership, region and innovation behavior, we analyze the heterogeneity of the relationship between quality signal and innovation performance, that is, compared with non-state-owned enterprises and enterprises in the central and western regions, quality signal enhancement is more conducive to promoting the innovation performance of state-owned enterprises and eastern enterprises; Compared with breakthrough innovation, quality signal enhancement is more conducive to promote enterprises to carry out incremental innovation. In order to promote the innovation performance of enterprises, it is proposed to pay attention to the sending and receiving of quality signals, improve the availability of technology, effectively grasp and predict the market effect and recognition that technological innovation or change may bring, and maintain appropriate technological width, technological depth and technological overlap.
