Abstract:Digital economy is an important grasp and strategic development goal to realize the development of regional integration. It is necessary to deeply study the impact mechanism of digital economy on regional integration. Based on the relevant data of 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2013 to 2020, this paper uses the panel data fixed effect model and the intermediary effect model to empirically test the impact of digital economy on regional integration, and from the perspective of factor allocation, deeply explores its mechanism. The research finds that: (1) from the perspective of subdivision, the infrastructure of digital technology, the technological innovation of digital industry and the digital development environment have a positive role in promoting regional integration, which can effectively promote the process of regional integration; (2) The three production factors of digital economy, capital, technology and manpower, have a significant positive correlation with the development of regional integration. Increasing the investment in digital production factors can significantly improve the development level of regional integration. Therefore, we should constantly improve the digital infrastructure, vigorously develop the digital industry, build a good digital development environment, increase investment in digital related capital, technology and talents, improve the development level of regional digital economy, and promote the development level of regional economic integration.
