Abstract:Boundary-spanning search and resource bricolage play an important role in the sustainable competitive advantage, however, at this stage, there is still a lack of theoretical explanation and evidence for the internal mechanism of the two driving sustainable competitive advantage. From the perspective of opportunity development, based on the theory of resource arrangement, this paper constructs a mechanism model of the impact of boundary-spanning search and resource patching on the sustainable competitive advantage of new technology enterprises, and verifies the intermediary role of the speed type and quality type of opportunity development models in this impact process, as well as the differential contingency role of dual leadership styles. Based on the empirical test of sample data of China"s new high-tech enterprises, the results show that: (1) Boundary-spanning search and resource bricolage both positively affect sustainable competitive advantage, and the effects of the two on sustainable competitive advantage are complementary; (2) Speed based opportunity development and quality based opportunity development positively affect sustainable competitive advantage, and both play an intermediary role in the process of boundary-spanning search and resource bricolage affecting sustainable competitive advantage. At the same time, it is found that boundary-spanning search is more inclined to quality type opportunity development model to obtain sustainable competitive advantage, and resource bricolage is more inclined to speed type opportunity development model to obtain sustainable competitive advantage; (3) In the process of cross-border search influencing the two modes of opportunity development, transformational leadership style has played a differential role and transactional leadership style has played a negative role; On the contrary, in the process of resource pooling affecting the two modes of opportunity development, transactional leadership style played a differential role in regulating, while transformational leadership style did not play a significant role in regulating. The research conclusion provides a matching theoretical guidance and targeted practical enlightenment for China"s new technology enterprises to build sustainable competitive advantages and carry out targeted entrepreneurial activities.
