Abstract:In order to further clarify the formation mechanism of innovation emergence under the spatial overlap of urban agglomerations and industrial agglomerations, promote resource concentrated urban agglomerations to become active areas for technological innovation, and stimulate innovation emergence, from the perspective of micro individual enterprises, this study focuses on the linkage and conglomeration effect phenomenon between urban agglomerations and industrial agglomerations in the spatial overlap development of six major urban agglomerations in China, with listed companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2015 to 2020 as the research object. The results indicate that: (1) the coordinated development of urban clusters and industrial clusters contributes to the emergence of innovation, and the innovation behavior of enterprises in the same industry within the cluster is linked. Moreover, due to the diversified clustering effect, the innovation behavior of different industries also has a significant linkage effect, especially in the central and eastern urban clusters and mature urban clusters; (2) The co cluster effect of innovation behavior among urban agglomeration enterprises is conducive to the emergence of innovation. The innovation behavior of enterprises is influenced by the innovation behavior of other enterprises in the same industry within the cluster, and the effect is more pronounced among enterprises with the same property nature; (3) The coordinated development of urban agglomeration service industry and advanced manufacturing industry contributes to technological innovation. The development of circulation service industry and knowledge-based service industry will promote advanced manufacturing enterprises to actively carry out technological innovation, which is conducive to inducing the emergence of innovation in urban agglomeration. Finally, based on the research findings, in order to promote the emergence of innovation in urban agglomerations, suggestions are proposed to strengthen the coordinated development mechanism, enhance enterprise technological connections, and focus on the specialization and diversified coordinated development of industrial policies in the formulation of urban agglomeration construction policies.
