Abstract:In this study, the regional differences and spatial convergence of FinTech development are investigated using the Dagum Gini coefficient and the β convergence model based on China"s FinTech development data from 2011 to 2020. As revealed by the result of this study, (1) the gap is relatively significant in the overall FinTech development in China. However, the Dagum Gini coefficient shows a downward trend on the whole, the coordination is gradually enhanced, and the overall gap is gradually narrowed. There are significant differences in the FinTech development among different regions in China, with the most significant development gap between the eastern region and the western region. (2) The average contribution of the difference in net worth between regions is obtained as 56.79%, which largely leads to the difference in the FinTech development among different provinces in China. (3) From the overall perspective of China, the FinTech development has constantly been in a state of convergence during the period of sample survey.
