Abstract:Based on the basis of analyzing the effect mechanism of digital economy driving the deep integration of "two industries", the panel data of 11 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from 2011 to 2020 were selected and used to analyze the effect and path of digital economy in promoting the integrated development of "two industries" using multiple linear regression models and intermediary effect model. The study found that: (1) The digital economy significantly promotes the integration of "two industries", and the conclusion is still valid after the heterogeneity test and robustness test; (2)The effects produced are regionally different, compared with Hong Kong, Macao and central cities, the Pearl River Delta region and peripheral cities is more affected by the digital economy; (3)Expanding market demand and causing quality change is the main path to drive the deep integration of the "two industries", and plays a role in improving the quality of products and services of the "two industries". Therefore, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area needs to promote the deep integration development of the "two industries" by implementing dynamic and differentiated digital economy development strategies, establishing an industrial integration and coordinated development mechanism, and actively promoting the efficiency, power and quality change process of the digital economy.
