Abstract:As an important actor in the national innovation system, universities are playing an increasingly important role in interdisciplinary research. Since interdisciplinary research is characterized by high uncertainty and time-costly for the build the research impact, how to effectively launch a support system to encourage interdisciplinary output has become an urgent problem to be solved. Starting from the exploration of internal and external factors that affect interdisciplinary research, this article analyzes the influence of internal factors such as the subject's experience characteristics and relevant discipline characteristics, and external factors such as institutional environment support and research platform strength on the quantity, quality, landmark achievements and efficiency of interdisciplinary research output based on 1147 questionnaire data. From the empirical results, suggestions are put forward for platform construction, institutional protection and researchers training for universities.
