Abstract:The high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is an essential component of the high-quality development of the economy. Digital transformation is the necessary path for the high-quality development of SMEs. However, the theoretical and practical aspects of the path and approach for the high-quality development of SMEs are still not clear. Based on research into the digital practices of multiple SMEs and employing Bourdieu's practice theory and critical realism, this study explores the four major capital driving forces triggered by digitization in the real domain. It proposes a practical path of transformation in SMEs' digital habits under the influence of these four driving forces in the practical domain. Furthermore, it characterizes the multidimensional value of high-quality development in the experiential domain, thereby providing a theoretical framework and an implementation strategy for the high-quality development of SMEs.
