Abstract:Digital capability is the core capability for enterprises to gain competitive advantage. Based on the capability theory and configuration perspective, this study reveals the digital capability’s construction mode and mechanism by using the questionnaire data of 106 high-tech enterprises in China and the method of fuzzy sets qualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA). The research results show that a single condition cannot constitute the necessary condition of enterprise"s digital capability alone; The three construction modes of enterprise"s digital capability are: strong dominance of configuration behavior, mixed dominance of resource allocation and strong dominance of resource structure; The CCEF construction mechanism model of enterprise"s digital capability is based on strong executive support and strong resource flexibility, and strong institutional pressure, good ecological regulation mechanism, strong technology research and development and multi-technology platform are linked and matched, resulting in "demand-response" effect, "technology-integration" effect and "cross-border-empowerment" effect.
