Abstract:In order to improve the efficiency of knowledge service in colleges and universities of China, stimulate the innovation potential of college teachers, and enhance knowledge innovation, the empowerment theory is introduced in the field of knowledge service. In-depth interviews are conducted with 26 knowledge service subjects from nine universities in China, combined with nine online reports released by C9 universities, data processing is carried out using grounded theoretical coding technology. Six core categories of technology empowerment, market empowerment, knowledge empowerment, psychological empowerment, institutional empowerment, and organizational empowerment are excavated. Meanwhile, based on analysis results, a theoretical model of knowledge service empowerment in colleges and universities from a two-factor perspective(IMK-TPO model) is constructed, and the questionnaire survey method is used to verify the model. The research finds that, in the path of knowledge service empowerment, it is necessary not only to maintain the original service efficiency with the health care empowerment models such as institutional empowerment, market empowerment, and knowledge empowerment, but also to improve the overall service efficiency driven by incentive empowerment models such as technology empowerment, psychological empowerment, and organizational empowerment. Among them, institutional empowerment and market empowerment require the collaborative support of government and other organizations, knowledge empowerment needs to be improved through continuous learning. Based on this, the development strategy is put forward: the government, universities and individuals should jointly establish an information sharing platform, build a cooperation network, and strengthen the integration and interaction of disciplines.
