Abstract:In recent years, as an affordable way of digital transformation, digital platforms application have been adopted by many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and used to handle with unexpected crisis such as the epidemic. Based on information processing theory and ambidextrous learning literature, this paper explores the impact mechanism of digital platform application on SMEs" organizational resilience. Through an empirical analysis of the survey data of 218 SMEs, this research explores the impact of digital platforms usage on organizational resilience. The findings show that digital platforms usage positively affect SME organizational resilience and digital platforms usage affects SMEs’ organizational resilience through exploratory learning and exploitative learning. Moreover, organizational inertia negatively moderates the relationship between ambidextrous learning and SMEs organizational resilience. The findings provide new theoretical perspectives and practical insights on how to improve the resilience of SMEs in the context of digital economy.
