Abstract:In the past decade, there has emerged in an endless stream research in the academic community on the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. To help the academic community summarize research results and clarify future research directions, this article reviews literature on the theme of "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and "Green and Low-Carbon" included in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database, and uses CiteSpace bibliometric tool for visual analysis. After research, this article has compiled the number of publications in this research field since 2010, sorted out the core authors, research institutions, and their collaborative relationships, summarized 5 research areas and several hot research topics, and explored future research trends in conjunction with central and local policy documents. The research conclusion shows that the research level of the domestic academic community on the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has not reached the ecological civilization level planned by the central government. There are deficiencies in 10 aspects, including environmental protection systems, comprehensive transformation and development in four dimensions, specific environmental protection and ecological governance measures, low-carbon core content, innovative development models, advanced energy-saving model technologies, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation and exchange. This article suggests that scholars should conduct research from the perspective of ecological civilization, strengthen interdisciplinary and cross Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao research cooperation, make up for the research shortcomings in the 10 aspects summarized in this article, make academic research more in line with national policies, and makes theoretical contributions to the construction of the ecological civilization Greater Bay Area.
