Abstract:Increasing innovation investment in the biopharmaceutical industry, enhancing the original innovation capability of enterprises, promoting knowledge spillover of biopharmaceutical enterprises and improving the overall innovation capability of the industry are crucial to the long-term sustainable development of the biopharmaceutical industry. Based on the endogenous growth theory, this paper constructs the Cobb-Douglas production function model, selects 345 listed companies in China's biomedical industry from 2015 to 2022 as the research object, and empirically researches the influence mechanism of innovation input on knowledge spillover of biomedical enterprises, as well as the moderating effect of knowledge stock on the influence mechanism of the two. The study finds that: innovation investment positively affects knowledge spillovers of biomedical enterprises, and knowledge stock positively regulates the promotion effect of innovation investment on biomedical enterprises; compared with non-state-owned enterprises, the promotion effect of innovation investment on knowledge spillovers of biomedical enterprises and the positive regulating effect of knowledge stock are more significant in state-owned enterprises. Finally, corresponding policy recommendations are proposed for the development of biopharmaceutical industry from both the corporate and government levels.
