Abstract:Sci-tech innovation platform is an effective carrier to drive innovation. Compared with major sci-tech innovation powers in the world, there are some problems in the practice of sci-tech innovation platforms in China, such as dispersion of sci-tech resources, insufficient relevance and dependence among subjects, it is necessary to critically study relevant existing literature research. Combined with classical platform theory and using CiteSpace software, this study systematically reviewes the research on foreign sci-tech innovation platforms from 1956 to 2021, and analyzes its future research trend. Combined with recent platform research, it is found that the research of foreign sci-tech innovation platforms has experienced three stages: resource integration (1956-1981), multilateral framework focusing on resource carriers (1982-2007), and innovation ecology focusing on multi-participant coordination platforms (2008-present). It is suggested that future research should further explore the meaning of "platform" of sci-tech innovation platform, and identify the modular architecture, network effects and attributes of multi-layer platform. Conduct in-depth research on the governance of sci-tech innovation platform, including exploring the construction strategy of the platform based on modular classical theory and social learning perspective, and exploring the ecological development strategy of the platform based on stakeholder theory, meta-organization perspective and platform life cycle perspective; pay attention to new forms of sci-tech innovation platforms that reflect the democratization of innovation, such as DIY laboratories open to the public and open innovation platforms enabled by digital technology.
