Abstract:The innovation contribution of platform complementary enterprises provides important support for industrial platform innovation, but the existing research has not fully understood the mechanism of innovation induction of platform complementary enterprises in the context of platform owners entering the complementary market. Based on the stimulus-organism response (SOR) theoretical framework and self-determination (SDT) theory, to explore the mechanism of“Platform owner entering complementary market (stimulus)-complementary enterprise perception (organism cognition)-complementary enterprise innovation behavior (response)”, from the perspective of platform climate (platform support) , the boundary conditions of entry strategy affecting the perception of complementary enterprises are discussed. The results show that complementary firm perception (demand opportunity perception, situational threat perception) mediates the entry of platform owner and the innovation of complementary firm, platform support moderates the relationship between entry strategy and opportunity perception of complementary enterprise needs. The results of this study can be used for reference to guide the innovation behavior of complementary firms.
