Abstract:In the Internet economy era, market competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Innovation has become a core element of enterprise development, and cross - border innovation of enterprises is of great significance for obtaining sustainable competitive advantages. This paper, through combing relevant literature, elaborates on the theoretical basis of enterprise cross - border innovation in detail, and clearly defines the concept of enterprise cross - border. From the perspectives of organizational boundary management, heterogeneous knowledge management, and organizational innovation management, enterprise cross - border is divided into three dimensions: organizational cross - border, geographical cross - border, and technological cross - border. The paper further explores its impact mechanism on innovation performance. The research finds that organizational cross - border and geographical cross - border have a positive impact on innovation performance, technological cross - border has an inverted "U" - shaped relationship with innovation performance. Organizational legitimacy plays a regulatory role, and organizational routine renewal and organizational knowledge reconstruction play a partial mediating role. In view of the limitations of current research, in the future, enterprise development data can be collected, the dimensions of enterprise cross - border can be expanded, more variables can be included, and empirical tests can be carried out to further improve the research on enterprise cross - border innovation and provide a solid theoretical support for the cross - border innovation practice of enterprises.
