Abstract:Based on the DEA-Malmquist model combined with Bayesian model averaging (BMA), this study conducts an in-depth discussion on the important influencing factors of the production efficiency of the advanced manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province during the period of 2015-2022, with a view to providing theoretical support for the high-quality development of the advanced manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province and even in the country as a whole. The results show that the production efficiency of the advanced manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province shows a zigzag development; among the 21 potential influencing factors selected, labor quality, market demand, industrial structure, R&D investment and the degree of industrial integration are the important influencing factors affecting the development of the advanced manufacturing industry. Based on the empirical results, the author puts forward policy suggestions to promote the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing industry, such as strengthening the collaboration with enterprises, improving the support system of the tertiary industry to the advanced manufacturing industry, strengthening the research and development support to the advanced manufacturing industry and improving the level of university industry, academia and research.
