Abstract:The development of world-class sci-tech journals should encompass both Chinese and English publications, as this is foundational for securing international academic discourse power. China has emerged as a significant contributor to academic paper publications, with the quantity and quality of its sci-tech journals continually improving. However, a reliance on third-party publishing platforms for paper submission, review, and publication remains a prevalent issue, and creates vulnerabilities akin to "being choked" in the publishing process. In order to make some breakthroughs in independent journal publishing, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University has independently developed a publishing platform tailored to national conditions and featuring medical characteristics by strengthening the development of publishing talents and consolidating the technological foundation. This platform serves the entire publishing process of both Chinese and English journals. This article summarizes and analyzes some explorations based on the process of serving independent journal publishing through the self-developed publishing platform, aiming to provide referential experience for the development of scientific journals in China.
