Abstract:Disruptive technological innovation is the core driving force for enhancing a country's innovation capability and achieving high-quality development. To further explore the impact and mechanism of government procurement on disruptive technological innovation, accelerate the development of disruptive technological innovation through government procurement, and achieve high-quality development goals, relevant data on government procurement and Chinese listed companies from 2015 to 2022 were collected to construct a model to empirically test the specific impact and mechanism of government procurement on disruptive technological innovation in enterprises. Research has found that government procurement has a significant positive promoting effect on disruptive technological innovation in enterprises, and this effect is achieved through two mechanisms: alleviating corporate financing constraints and improving corporate ESG performance. Heterogeneity analysis shows that compared to non-state-owned enterprises, government procurement has a more significant positive promoting effect on disruptive technological innovation in state-owned enterprises; Compared to the central and western regions, government procurement has a more significant positive promoting effect on disruptive technological innovation of enterprises in the eastern region. Based on this, measures and suggestions are proposed to strengthen government procurement supervision and continue to improve supporting policies for government procurement, in order to fully leverage the positive role of government procurement in promoting disruptive technological innovation and accelerate the development of disruptive technological innovation in enterprises.
